A New Chapter in Partnership

At The DaySchool for Children, we know that educating a child means walking alongside their family. In this new season, we’re growing in our commitment to supporting our parents more intentionally—deepening the connection between home and school so that every child can thrive. We believe that when schools and families walk together—with trust, openness, and shared values—children flourish. That’s why we are evolving our programs and communication to ensure that our partnership is strong, collaborative, and built to grow.

This year, we are focused on:

  • Creating space for open and meaningful conversations

  • Equipping parents with tools for home and school success

  • Strengthening community through shared purpose and events

Communication & Tools for Parents

A strong relationship is built on strong communication. That’s why this year, we will offer multiple ways to stay connected, informed, and engaged throughout the year.

How We Stay Connected:

  • Brightwheel App – Weekly updates from teachers, parent & teacher messaging, photos, attendance, and calendar

  • Our Monthly Parent Email – Monthly updates from front office and upcoming event reminders

  • Brightwheel Text Alerts – Instant messages for important reminders or school closings

  • Virtual & In-Person Touchpoints – Zoom meet-and-greets, conferences, and parent discussions

Whether it’s through a message from your child’s teacher or a reminder about Picture Day, we want every communication to reflect care, clarity, and community.

DaySchool Parent Society

About DaySchool Parent Society (DPS)

For over fifteen years, the DaySchool Parent Society (DPS) has supported the mission and heart of our school. As an open group of parent volunteers, DPS plays an active role in shaping the experiences that make DaySchool so special. Every parent is welcome, and every role—big or small—makes an impact.

What DPS Helps With:

  • Pre-Loved Uniform Store: Operated during the summer and throughout the school year, this resource helps families access gently used uniforms while raising funds for school needs.

  • School Events & Celebrations: Parents help coordinate many of our most joyful traditions!

    • Thanksgiving Festival & Family Potluck

    • Christmas Mini Concert

    • Black History Celebration

    • Teacher Appreciation Week

  • Outreach & Service Campaigns: Each year, DPS leads a community outreach project that gives students a hands-on way to experience compassion and generosity.

Whether it’s setting up chairs, baking cookies, hosting a class party, or sharing your talents, your presence makes a difference. Opportunities are announced via our school newsletter, Brightwheel app, and at Parent Orientation in September.
